Update

Life has been a little crazy this semester, hence the lack of updates. Jacob is still working Friday and Sunday nights and I now work every Friday and every other Saturday. But, we're almost done which I am so looking forward to. Next week we leave for California and a much needed break. Then in December is Idaho! I love the holidays and all the family time. One of my most favorite things is Christmas music, I just can't get enough. I was so excited to find a radio station that plays Christmas tunes 24/7! I've pretty much been listening to that since Halloween! The only recent pictures I have I stole from Megan's blog. Last month we went to Hansen Stadium here at Dixie State and kicked field goals. Jacob, Andrew, and Megan did really well, and could actually make it in the upright. I however made a really awesome goal in the soccer net! Anyway, enjoy, and hopefully we'll have more pictures after Thanksgiving!

Soccer Update

We disappointed a lot of people Wed. Night by losing our first game 15-2. I don't remember being that bad- I don't know what happened. I think I even saw Mark Sanchez eating a hot dog during the game.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWhBwpshxlY) We have become the Oakland Raiders of intramural soccer it's that bad. The Clippers called and thanked us for making them look good. The other team kept doing goal celebrations and Deidre just sat and pretended not to know us. She was supposed to play, I begged her all week, but turned into the team daycare so the other girls could play. I think she saved a babies life by keeping him warm, it was cold. We did however win our second game. They didn't have enough players so they had to forfeit but...I'm thinking they still could have beaten us without them. It's a toss up. Were 1 and 1

Back to School

Well, school's started. Blah. Can I just vent for a minute on how much i hate the Dixie State testing center!!! It's absolutely ridiculous. This year is suppose to be new and improved, meaning they moved it to a warehouse that's the same size as the old one! And, the boy behind the desk can't give you your test because he "takes the completed tests". So you're left waiting for the other guy to return so you can walk down the 2 inch isles, sit in your assigned seat, and take a test. Not to mention that terrible buzzing sound and the people you can hear laughing through the adjacent door. The worst part is the entrance/exit door that opens into the line of people returning their test. I couldn't even get out today becuase a girl was standing right in front of the door and obviously didn't realize that i was about to hit her. I hate to say it, but I actually miss BYU-I where they had order and you actually had enough room to breath. Oh and how I miss the room where they played calm, relaxing music! Sure beats the sorry center that Dixie has created.
I think i'm mostly annoyed because I hate perio, and I hate the tests in that class. But that's how I feel. So sorry about my rant!

Summer School = Done

Seven years after graduating high school and i have my Associates. Oh yeah. And I'm not even embarrassed -cause Deidre doesn't have hers. When ever i say that she says we are splitting mine because she did most of my homework this semester but no way man. I focused on the last math class of my life while she worked on my excel and PowerPoint class from hell. That's proof I have the best wife- not too many people would spend 5 hours a day sometimes, making charts and learning excel. She actaully got really excited about the class and would tell me stories of how her and annalyn would have girl talk in the back office at turtle and crane about finding new ways to plot data. Sometimes its weird to think how much those two are alike.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xEzGIuY7kw

Its true though, i couldn't have done it with out her and she keeps on pushing me and i love it. Ryan, Mom, Callie, My high school math tutor Mellisa Cook can all tell you how much i hate math. I cant believe i even went to class. This semester i would go to work at 11pm get out at 7am .Then i would go to class at 7am to 9am then go to math from 9am-11am. It's a mircle I went. I tried taking one math class in idaho when i wasent married at like noon and never went. I only had that 7-9 class for half the summer but i got my first A+. Whats even more amazing is i only got caught sleeping at work twice and still have a job. This was a good summer.

On the fourth of July Deidre and i decided to put the fireman mattress in the back of the truck and go watch the fireworks. Deidre wanted to be in Idaho falls and i wanted to be at Aaron's with all the family but the truck was fun. I love my truck.

After the fourth we got invited to hike the narrows with Carrie in Zion...

Favorite sister after Casey now. If you move to St George you two can be tied.

Shauna- (guy love)I worked you in tennis.

Callie and Deidre- i see no muscle

It was fun. We didn't know we were that close to Zion's and should get a pass for the year. I want to drive it on our hog so Megan and Andrew get the scooter ready.

We had alot of people at our house and are getting more beds so you will come. Thanks mom for the table and chair- Deidre loves it.

Welp, Summer schools over today and were heading to Callie's when Deidre gets off work. We are heading to Idaho and bear lake in Aug for both out family reunions. Cant wait to see Ryan and annalyn and Luke too. Love you guys. Jacob and Deidre

The favorite Aunt.

IDAHO

Last week I went to Idaho to see my family. I had a really great time and was able to see a lot of people that I've missed since we've moved.
Kristi, Kelli, and I went to dinner Wednesday night. Kelli and I thought it would be fun to surprise Kris, so we didn't tell her I was coming. She didn't know what was going on. It was so fun to hang out with my girls, I miss the college days!

After dinner Kris and I hit up my favorite Icee shack. I forgot how good they really are. I have yet to find a good one in St. George, which makes me really sad.
Thursday I hung out with Ashley and Dana. We went to Dairy Queen where the employees struggle making dipped cones. The picture doesn't capture how sad our ice cream cones really looked.

It was so good to see my BFF Ashley. She has such a cute belly. I'm excited for her to be a mom, she's going to be awesome!

Thursday night we went to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat. I was in the play in 2001 and 2005, so this was the first time I had seen it from the audience. It was fabulous, I loved it. I wished I could be down there singing and dancing, however, it was fun to watch. I wish I could go every night! This is the third time my aunt Karin has been the narrator, and this year her sister Jennifer was the other narrator. They did such an amazing job. And Jim Johnson, who is Joseph, was also incredible, like always.

Here's everyone just waiting for the magic to begin.

This is Brett Johnson, who plays Jacob. He is one of my favorite people in the whole world!

I had a good time in Idaho, but I'm glad to be back in St. George with my husband. Hopefully now that school is out I can be better about posting, but let's be honest, I probably won't!

After 15 months of marriage it still fits, and zips up!!!!

Long awaited update

I know it's been a long time since we've posted, so I'll try to catch y'all up on what's been happening in St. George. I started summer semester May 11 and just finished on June 18. This semester went so much smoother for me than last semester, so I was very grateful. We learned how to give injections which ended up being kind of fun! Jacob's started one class on May 18 and finished that class June 18. He also started 2 classes on June 1 and will be finished on July 23.

The first week of June my family came down to visit. Logan got to be my patient! He wasn't all that thrilled, but it was fun for me to show off all my new knowledge and skills! He was a good sport. On Friday Jacob and I didn't have school so we decided to take the family to Sand Hallow. It was a little chilly and windy, but they still wanted to jump off the cliffs. Even dad jumped off. Mom and I took pictures.

Dad and Austin striking a pose before jumping.

Jacob being strong, Logan trying to look strong, and Jena laughing at them.

We had a lot of fun with the family, and were so glad they could all come down!

Byu and Hitler

Megan and Andrew just showed us this video. Our only friends in St. George and they happen to be Ute fans. We even watched this game at their house. Luckily "those drunk losers" didn't rub it in to bad.

We hate Max Hall, more than Greg Ostertag and Bryon Russell combined

Alright fine I'm a fatty. I thought i was getting bigger but i was hoping Deidre was just shrinking my clothes. She even started to hang my shirts out of the washer to dry and put them on hangers around the house to make me feel better. What a good wife. Turns out- it was just me. This is how i found out for sure.

1) When we went to see Callie she made us watch her do P90x for an hour and a half

2) The same trip we saw Ryan and he pulls out Wii fit right before we were going to bed. Nice hint hermano.

3) We created our Wii characters and Deidre went into the highly underweight category. That's how i knew it was accurate. It put me into the overweight category and i saw myself get fatter and fatter.

4) Then Logan flat out says to me "your fat". Logan i could still pound you, or eat you, you know that right?

I could go with the excuse that its all muscle. I bench Deidre ten times every night before we go to bed but i just cant stop eating the Samoas. Dang girl scouts- i hate you all. If they sold those year round i would be 400 lbs.

Luckily i was just 3 pounds over weight in the wii but it was on carpet and might be a little off. I was going to just eat whatever Deidre ate and figured that would make us the same size but then i realized i need food. Half a slim fast shake wont keep me alive like it does her. I have to find ways to make her eat and suggesting cold stone seems to work. I made her breakfast this morning before school and we split some toast and she had a bowl of cereal. It made my day that she ate it.

Mom- were excited to see you and dad this week. Thanks for the card and we love you too. Jessie, thanks for last weekend. We skied straight from our room to the lift it was that cool. I almost could have put my snowboard on in the elevator. On my things i owe Jessie for that will be on the list.

Bowling

So, today the family went bowling. Dad won the first game with a 200. Logan beat out Jacob in the second game. I didn't do very well! But, I took some awesome pictures. So I was wondering...not who is the best bowler, but who is the best-looking bowler. Who has the best form?

Logan
Lance - Jena
Jacob - Trina
Deidre - Austin

Viva Las Vegas

Last weekend the girls all met in Vegas for a weekend of fun. We ate (a lot), sat by the pool, and went to the Wayne Brady show. It was so nice to not worry about school and be able to just relax. Plus, the hotel was sweet, so that helped!

One of the rooms = king size bed, 3 roll-aways, and plenty of extra room!

Callie and Jessie testing out the tub.

At the Venetian, and waiting for the Wayne Brady show to start!

The Red Storm Ragin Red VS Rebels Controversy

DIXIE RED STORMS
Half Tornado, Half Bull

VS
Dont worry guys, we will veto the new mascot and are going to remain the Rasmussen Rebels on our blog.

There was a news story asking what everyone thought of the switch and even after seeing this.....

(Ragin Red The Bull)

We think the rebels is cooler.

I'm not sure why we had a red bird as our mascot for the rebels anyways, unless its some kind of bird i don't know about. Brady and Lindsey came to stay with us for a night on their way to Disneyland this week and left Kadens first book of birds at our house, i should check it out. Did you know Brady, Pigeons can reach speeds up to 100 mph. That book is amazing- thanks.

It's funny to hear Deidre talk about the switch too, ask her about it.

Besides the mascot thing we have been doing good. We have spring break coming up and are going to Idaho if i can get off work. It will be our one year anniversary that same week and were still together.... happily.

Not much eles is new. I got an awesome truck- its old but i like it. We went off roading a little yesterday in the red rocks and were flying all over. I need a boat now so i can tow stuff. If anyone needs a washer or dryer moved -anything heavy i can help cause i got my red truck.
